Tata Sky finally declares channels prices, packs for users complying with TRAI’s new rules
In compliance with TRAI's new regulator for DTH and cable TV operators, Tata Sky has put a list of prices of personal channels, prices for bouquets for broadcasters

Tata Sky has so far not declared any information regarding the TRAI rules, which will be applicable on February 1, 2019.

Tata Sky, Sun Direct TV, Bharti Telemedia Limited, which owns Airtel TV has filed a petition challenging the new regulatory system of TRAI in Delhi High Court, which will reduce cable TV bill for customers.

The final hearing of the case is due on January 28, 2019, but when all other operators were showing details about pricing, Tata Sky did not do so.

On this non-compliance, TRAI has left behind Tata Sky too.

In a letter to Tata Sky last week, the regulator had said that it received "a large number of complaints" from the customers of the company, that "they have not made any provision in their system to achieve the customer's choice according to the new regulator "Framework.

"TRAI asked Tata Sky to file a status report on implementation.
Under the new TRAI regulations.

how can Tata Sky customers choose their channels?

Customers of Tata Sky can visit the company's official website.

They will get a big banner, which will tell them to choose their channels.

Users should click on that option
On the website, they will have to log in using their mobile number or subscriber ID.

The mobile number is the one connected to the Tata Sky account. An OTP will be required to login.

When you log in, Tata Sky will show you three options:

Recommended for you, (based on your current TV pattern and bill), Tata Sky Pack (which are curated by Tata Sky) and all the packs and channels.

Now the Tata Sky Recommended Pack will show a new per-month pack based on your current consumption pattern.

For example, it showed us an amount of Rs 745 per month, which included NCF or network capacity of Rs 245 and a premium sports English HD pack of Rs 500. There are about 71 SD channels and 57 HD channels in our case.

Although under the new rules of TRAI, it may look like a high cost of Rs 745 per month, it is still half of the regular payment of this bill. Apart from this, the price is included in the taxes.

But the good part here is that a user does not have to stay with this pack.

They can click on all the packs and channels if they do not like the pack. Here users can manually select 100 channels.

Tata Sky says that at present, users have been subscribed for a long-term pack, the company will migrate them to the monthly pack of choice on/after 1 February 2019, and will credit the remaining balance in their Tata Sky account.

In all packs and channels, you can see the different prices of each channel, which bouquet prices have been made by broadcasters.

The prices of each channel are reflected in the menu next to it.

You can choose your 100 channels from individual channels or add broadcaster bouquets.

Tata Sky is showing prices involved in taxes. Remember that the NCF or network capacity charge is taken on the basis of total channel calculation.

NCF for the first 100 channels is included in the Rs 153 / - per month (130 + 18% GST) and for every subsequent 25 channels it is Rs. 23 / - inclusive of taxes per month (20 + 18% GST).

Also, 1 HD channel is considered as 2 SD channel in channel count.
