Apple Rumoured to be Working on a Smaller AirPower Charging Mat
After being officially canceled last year, Apple's wireless charging mat AirPower is pointing to a possible resurgence. According to John Processor from the Front Page Tech YouTube channel, Apple has relaunched the project internally.

A recent tweet from the tipster suggests that Apple is "trying to re-engineer the coils so that heat can be better displaced". He also mentioned that if Apple will release it then there is no guarantee.

As you know, Apple had to cancel AirPower because the gadget could not achieve its standards in terms of equipment condition and heat dissipation. Apple claimed that its wireless charging mat would allow users to place the device anywhere in the mat for charging while the results were unsatisfactory in internal testing.

A follow-up tweet from Prosser claimed that the current prototypes of AirPower do not support the Apple Watch, which, he says, is the biggest obstacle to Apple's engineering team in charge of AirPower.

As MacRumors points out, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted at a "small wireless charging mat" for the first half of 2020 in January. There is a possibility that both the processor and the Ku can talk about the same product.

If you don't know, the processor gave us a first look at Google Pixel 5 last month and his tweets about Apple have been fairly accurate lately, especially the launch of new Apple products.

With that, since we cannot verify the reliability of the information so far, we would advise you to take this information with salt and wait for Apple's official announcement (if it will someday in the future it happens).
