Xiaomi Patents a Bezel-Less Display Phone With 4 Curved Edges

While Xiaomi is busy preparing for the launch of Mi 9, a new report has surfaced on the web, in which all the four curved edges have been suggested for the development of the phone.

 Chinese giants have patented a new design that will come in the form of a full-screen smartphone with a four-way front display. 

This is similar to the one-screen panel being used by Samsung on its major models. 

However, unlike the South Korean company which provides the right and left curved edges of the display panel, Xiaomi is clearly trying to give some curvature up and down.

The patent application filed with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) received by LetsGoDigital shows that Xiaomi plans to bring a smartphone with a four-way edge display.

 According to the graphical representation seen in the patent, there is actually a full-screen model in which there is no selfie camera or earpiece.

 The company has already brought models such as MI Mix 3 and MI Mix 2S to get a glimpse into futuristic designs.

However, the view of patent technology shows that Xiaomi is ready to move a step forward and bring a handset with a four-way curved display. 

The phone also has a dual rear camera setup with an LED flash module and lower port USB port.

It is not clear whether Xiaomi will use a patent for any one of its upcoming smartphones or will only consider it for a concept.

Models like Meizu Zero and Vivo Apex 2019 recently debuted as Concept, in which no specific glimpse was given in the future. 

However, as we mentioned, Xiaomi has not leaped on that bandwagon yet and he is busy making his way to the next flagship, which is expected as Mi9.

Xiaomi Mi 9 is estimated to be debuted with an in-display fingerprint sensor and includes a triple rear camera setup.

 There is also a rumor of having 27W Fast Charging support in the smartphone and Snapdragon 855 SoC's top-up line can be there. 

Also, the Mi9 is expected to start with the initial price of CNY 2,999 (about Rs 31,600) later this month.
