It appears that this feature is slightly to increase engagement among small businesses listed on Google Maps and Google Maps users.
Google has introduced a new feature for its Google Maps app. As part of the announcement, the company has introduced a new "message" feature inside the app that allows users to send instant messages. If you are thinking that it allows users to contact your friends and family when allowing a new form of instant messaging, then you are wrong in that assumption. According to the information on the Internet, the convenience of new messages only allows users to come in contact with the businesses listed on Google Maps.

Screenshots of this feature initially appeared on Reddit in Android sub-reddit and later reported by BGR.com. Upon looking at the feature, it appears that this feature is to increase engagement among small businesses listed on Google Maps and Google Maps users. Apart from better engagement, it is also possible to increase the number of users who can reach small businesses with the help of this feature. This can also work as a quick way to reach businesses by eliminating the need to call them.
Google is also working on new features for its other apps, including Google Duo. As previously mentioned, the company is planning to launch two new modes as part of its Google Duo app. Company Group is working on introducing low light mode in video with video calling.
