After months of teasers and delayed launches, Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi 10 flagship phone in India today. It is the first Mi branded premium smartphone that could make its way in India in a very long time. Mi Mix 2 was the last landing in India in 2017 and Xiaomi has focused all its efforts on building the Redmi brand.

The Chinese giant is only launching the Mi 10 and not the Pro variant in India. The Mi 10 is definitely a strong entry into the flagship segment, which includes key competitors such as OnePlus and Realme. The smartphone features a curved display, 108MP quad-camera array, Qualcomm's flagship chipset, and wireless charging. Let's take a look at the complete specs, price, availability details:

Mi 10: Specs and Features

The smartphone features a curved glass-sandwich design, which should feel snug and comfortable in the hand. You have curved and punch-hole cutouts on the front and a quad-camera array on the back. There is also an in-display fingerprint sensor onboard.

Display

The Mi 10 has a 6.67-inch full-HD + AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch response rate. The panel has 2340 x 1080pixel resolution, 1120 NIT peak brightness, and HDR 10+ support. The punch-hole cutout features a 20MP selfie snapper with 120fps slow-mo video recording support.

internals
Like any other flagship launched in 2020, the Mi 10 is powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset under the hood. You'll also get up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage on board. Storage is not expandable due to the lack of a microSD card slot.

In India, the Mi 10 Pack supports dual-mode 5G, thanks to the Snapdragon X55 modem onboard. The device also supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 out-of-the-box. For thermals, the Mi 10 comes equipped with a 3000 sq mm. Liquid cooling plates, vapor chambers, and graphene sheets covering the major components.

The Mi 10 includes two speakers for a true stereo audio experience, an IP rating, and an X-axis linear vibration motor for an amazing haptic response.

Software

Talking about software with the Mi 10 is important. The Mi 10 features Xiaomi's own MIUI 11 skin based on Android 10 out-of-the-box. And as you all know, MIUI is plagued with advertisements and bloatware to reduce prices and bring in revenue - there is an option to disable it all and you can read about it right here.

If you are planning to buy Mi 10, then you will not have to deal with any advertisements or bloatware. Xiaomi is presenting its Mi 10 flagship phone as a "Tier 1 Android device". This means that it will offer a blot-like experience for the Mi 10 in India by switching its Mi-branded system apps and out-of-the-box to Google apps.

Camera

The Mi 10 has a rear camera system with a primary 108MP (f / 1.69) Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor with a 7P lens and OIS support. To round up the kitty you will get a 13MP (f / 2.4) ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree FOV, 2MP (f / 2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor on board.

Due to the lack of a telephoto lens, which is present on the Pro version, this phone is not as versatile but packs a bunch of amazing camera features. The Mi 10 supports 8K video recording at 24fps, shoots in static mode (output super stable video to OIS + EIS), pro video, and RAW photo capture. The device bakes a VLOG, Portrait, Movie, and many other video modes.

The battery

The Mi 10 is also equipped with a 4,780mAh battery pack, which is good enough for the premium flagship. But, there is 30W wired and 30W wireless charging support which makes this phone a lot more desirable, at least for me. You get a 30W turbo charged adapter in the box.

There is 10W reverse wireless charging support on board. This makes the Mi 10 longer than the OnePlus 8, which does not support wireless charging like its Pro variants.

Mi 10 Price Rs. 49,999 for 8GB + 128GB base variants while 8GB + 256GB variants are priced at Rs. 54,999 in India. If you pre-order the device, you will get Mi Wireless Power Bank equal to Rs. 2,499 for free.
